Title: About Jiebing

Life in Pictures: Success in China

13 years of solo performance in the Navy left Jiebing a well-known master soloist, but she felt a need for a deeper, broader musical background. In 1984 Jiebing left the Chinese Navy (with the rank of Major) for the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. At the Conservatory she studied classical Chinese music, western music, including history and theory.

Jiebing continued her performance career, continuing to win awards and gaining in fame throughout China. In 1985 she began her international career, touring Australia, Europe and Asia as a soloist.
